The first artistic influence that I can remember was a comic book artist.
For a long time, I wanted to draw comics, but as I grew older I figured I didn’t have the patience it demands. So, the graphic designer in me is the bastard child of a failed comics creator.
The mermaid on this poster seems to be in a tight spot, but just like a graphic designer soaked in influences, she will just let the trouble flow through her like water.
This poster was inspired by the fantasy illustrations of the great Frank Frazetta, the psychedelic poster designs of Wes Wilson, and the underwater dog photos by Seth Casteel.
Created in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Procreate.

Prosdokía (προσδοκία), the expectations fairy
Eons ago, this gentle soul was cursed with the impossible burden of taming human expectations. She is hauntingly beautiful, but something seems... off.
It is her long black hair, always loose and disheveled, moving with a mind of its own like ocean waves on a moonless night. Lo and behold, there are things trapped beneath.
Spawned from the Nightmare Realm, these are the terrifying, disorienting worms that whisper cruel profanities on the back of our minds and keep us from taking the plunge into greatness.
Except... every once in a while, one of the worms becomes a butterfly and flies free toward the sun.
